A half day session, presented by Martyn Ingles, to ensure business owners understand the tax laws that affect their enterprise.

This course is intended for accountants in general practice who advise small and medium sized companies and groups.

Each year, businesses run into tax problems that can easily be avoided. This course will update delegates on topical tax affecting smaller business so they are able to identify pitfalls as well as planning opportunities.

Course topics include:

  • Personal service company (IR35) rules – extension to the private sector
  • Maximising capital allowances, particularly fixtures within buildings
  • Restriction of trading losses on change of company ownership
  • Directors loan accounts – problem areasLiquidating a company – is the distribution taxed as income or a capital gain?
  • CGT entrepreneurs’ relief for business owners - problem areas
