This half day course, presented by Kate Upcraft, will provide you with an update on topical tax for those practices providing payroll services to clients or involved in the running of the practice payroll.

This course is aimed at professional advisers but equally anyone who employs people in the private, public or voluntary sector. The course presupposes some knowledge of payroll and HR obligations.

You’ll be able to consider the impact on clients in respect to the changes to optional remuneration arrangements, the move to payrolling benefits, the introduction of Welsh income tax and the recent significant changes to the taxation of termination payments and that's just to pick four topics from a very long list of new employer obligations.

Course objectives include:

  • To ensure the team are up to date on current and future legislative developments

  • To identify any additional services that could be provided to clients and the impact on fees

  • To assess where new processes may need to be introduced internally for clients

  • To address gaps in letters of enagagement

  • To ensure the senior team are aware of the future resource needs of the payroll services function
