Covid-19 has given rise to various support packages from Central Government, Devolved Governments and Local Authorities. This presentation will consider the accounting treatment for these packages. Businesses have also been able to access various loan schemes, How should these be accounted for under FRS 102 and FRS 105? The session will also consider post period end events and going concern.

Presented by Mike Ulrich ACA
The Companies Act 2006, and Regulations, include references to “EU Adopted” and “EEA”. What changes will arise on Brexit and what do entities need to consider before this arises? The session will look at a number of case studies to highlight the issues and identify some possible solutions. This session is based on the current pronouncements.

Val Steward
BSc ACA FCCA FRSA, Director, VS Consultancy Limited
For over 20 years Val has worked with accountancy practices, helping them to develop their businesses and remain compliant.
She is the author and co-author of a number of technical guides and work programmes including the CCH Industry Audit and Accounting Guide on Clubs and Associations, the Practice Society Anti-Money Laundering Procedures and Training Manual and the ACCA Audit Programmes and Engagement Letters. She specialises in the not for profit sector lecturing and advising on charities and cooperatives of all sizes. She is actively involved in the charity sector, acting as a trustee as well as her involvement in the technical aspects of the sector.
She enjoys helping firms to develop, advising on training and staffing policy and all aspects of practice management. She also lectures widely on auditing, management skills and assurance services.

Mike Ulrich
Technical Consultant - Accounting and Audit
Mike Ulrich ACA, has been involved in presenting courses and seminars to professional accountants for over 20 years. The presentations covering a wide range of company law, auditing and accounting topics. As well as general courses on auditing and accounting issues he also presents specialist courses in respect of charities, pension schemes, solicitors, service charges, and LLPs.
He is a technical consultant on accounting and audit matters to a number of firms providing answers to real life issues. He also undertakes compliance reviews, both audit and audit exempt, for a number of firms and provides advice and guidance as required. Both of these provide him with an insight into those topics which are of practical interest to practitioners and accountants in commerce. He has his own practice and is a statutory auditor.
With this background it enables him
to see both the theory and practical aspects and the presentations reflect
this.

Tony is a practice implementation consultant at FreeAgent, where he helps accountants to get the most out of FreeAgent’s award-winning online accounting software. Tony spent the first 10 years of his career in practice as a corporate tax consultant before moving into the cloud accounting software industry. Since then, he has used his extensive knowledge and experience to support both small businesses and accountants through cloud accounting software. Tony is a fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants for England and Wales.
